All-Star Pitcher Recruiting Shohei Ohtani To Join Angels AL West Rival in Free Agency

The winter of Shohei Ohtani is here, and Angels fans everywhere are waiting like everyone else to see where he will sign. There is a quiet hope that he could end up coming back, even if it feels like a pipe dream.

Most fans have made their peace that he will leave the organization, but there has been talk about him joining some teams in the AL West. Luckily it seems that the Seattle Mariners may be out of the equation, but the Texas Rangers are still in the

Considering that Texas recently won the World Series, it would almost be unfair to include Ohtani. Max Scherzer, the pitcher for the Rangers, appeared on the Foul Territory show and offered Ohtani a chance to join the team.

Ohtani has stated unequivocally that the Rangers’ ability to provide him with a winning environment will be the primary determinant of his free agency decision. They, along with the Los Angeles Dodg

ers and Chicago Cubs, are a desirable destination for the two-way superstar.

For Angels supporters, it would be devastating if Ohtani decided to sign with Texas. It would be awful if he signed with the division, but it’s one thing if he did so elsewhere.

Supporters would not want to see him every day for the foreseeable future on a division rival, and it would make the AL West more difficult to compete in. With the Houston Astros, Mariners, and Rangers, the Halos already face an uphill battle; adding Ohtani would be disastrous.

If Ohtani decides to leave the Angels, hopefully it will be to leave the AL West. It might be crucial to the Angels’ future in the division.
