Dodgers star betray Los Angeles for $66M deal

Walker Buehler, Jack Flaherty, and Teoscar Hernández are among the important players the Los Angeles Dodgers have available in free agency. Are any of these free agents returning to Los Angeles in 2025, though, given the Dodgers’ recent additions of Blake Snell and Michael Conforto? According to a recent prediction by Kerry Miller of Bleacher Report, Hernández and the Dodgers will split ways this winter.

The Dodgers may not be able to re-sign Teoscar Hernández since they recently acquired Michael Conforto to a one-year, $17 million contract. As of right now, it appears that they will have Mookie Betts on days when Miguel Rojas starts at shortstop in addition to Conforto, Tommy Edman, Andy Pages, James Outman, and Chris Taylor as outfield alternatives,” Miller noted. “Top prospect Dalton Rushing might also be in the mix, so they’re likely all set on corner outfielders.” What does that signify for Hernández, though? Miller projects that the Dodgers outfielder will agree to a three-year, $66 million contract with Terry Francona and the Cincinnati Reds.

The Reds have a tonne of young talent, but their chances of qualifying for the postseason were ruined by injuries, bad management, and disappointing seasons. Things are going well in Cincinnati now that Francona is managing the team. Following their acquisition of Brady Singer a few weeks ago, the Reds have apparently enquired about a number of high-profile free players and trade prospects. They’ll be in excellent shape if they can get Hernández to play outfield every day.
