Two-vehicle crash led to road closure in both directions in Louth

There were emergency services present.

Following a two-vehicle collision, traffic on a significant Lincolnshire road was impeded. There were delays in the area as a result of the incident, which happened on the A46 Lincoln Bypass between the Doddington and Skellingthorpe roundabouts.

Following the incident, the road was closed in both directions and traffic was moving slowly. However, it has since reopened. There were emergency personnel on the scene. Northbound traffic was backed up to the Whisby Road roundabout, and southbound traffic was backed up to the Carholme roundabout.

As people looked for other routes, Skellingthorpe’s surrounding routes became clogged as well. Although injuries from the scene have been reported, they are not thought to be serious.

After the earlier collision, the A46 Lincoln Bypass between Doddington and Skellingthorpe is now open again. The area’s traffic is starting to return to normal.

Road to be reopened shortly

Following the earlier crash, Lincolnshire Police say the A46 is expected to reopen shortly. Officers say they don’t think the injuries that were reported from the scene are serious.
