When a family in Colindale, North London, answered the door, a milk bottle filled with acid was poured over them, leaving them serious burns. Williams-Douglas drove Raymond from Luton to the Colindale residence while carrying a milk bottle filled with sulfuric acid, as the court was informed. One of the attackers flung the acid at a woman when she answered the door.
Inside the house, it also struck a guy and a girl who was ten years old. After the three victims were transported to the hospital and later released, the two ran away. After responding to the incident, several officers received burn treatment on the spot. Their conditions were all not very serious.
A study revealed that CCTV footage revealedn Denico Raymond, 32, of Luton going into a shop to buy water to douse burns he had sustained when he threw the acid. A PCSO recognised him from the footage and he was subsequently arrested.
At his house, clothes that Raymond had on during the attack were found. After being connected to the vehicle the two had driven away from the incident, Williams-Douglas was recognised and taken into custody at his residence.
Denico Raymond, 32, of Luton, entered a guilty plea to two counts of GBH and one count of ABH at Harrow Crown Court on December 8, 2022, and was sentenced to life in prison with a minimum of nine years.
Jadiel Williams-Douglas, 35, of Luton, admitted guilt to three counts of aiding an offender and was sentenced to 27 months at Aylesbury Crown Court on Monday, February 19.
“This sentencing comes at the end of a long investigation and I would like to thank the detectives,” stated Detective Inspector Jack Stilwell, who oversaw the inquiry officers who have been involved with the case for their dedication. It also would not have been possible to secure these convictions without the bravery of the victims.
“We still haven’t found a connection to the address, and neither Raymond nor Williams-Douglas ever explained why they decided to target this family. It’s possible that they mistook each other for someone else, but unexpectedly, they had the guts to acknowledge that. The victims of this horrific crime will always be affected by the physical and psychological suffering they endured, even when the investigation is over.
