Premier League names officials for Luton’s match against Liverpool on Super Sunday.

Andy Madley will officiate Luton’s Sunday home game against Liverpool, which will be live on Sky Sports. This morning, the Premier League revealed the officials for this weekend’s games.

The West Yorkshire referee has officiated 11 games this season, recording 56 yellows and 2 reds. However, ten of those cautions occurred in a single game between Brighton and Wolves, during which the referee also sent Matheus Nunes off for the home team.

Earlier in the season, Madley called one Champions League game and one international friendly in which Saudi Arabia lost 1-0 at home to South Korea.

He oversaw 34 games in the previous year, including two Japanese JJ League games that resulted in 122 bookings and five dismissals.

Madley’s final match for Luton was a 1-0 Championship win against Rotherham in November 2020, with a goal from James Collins.

He also remembered the 2-1 triumph against Wigan, in which George Moncur scored an incredible late-game goal to send the visiting team’s Chey Dunkley off, as well as the 3-0 home loss to Hull in Town’s first season back in the second division in the 2019–20 campaign.

Two further Hatters games have been managed by Madley: the 1-0 home loss to Burton Albion in April 2015, and the 0-0 League Two draw at home against Cambridge in January 2016, Nathan Jones’s debut game.

His debut game at this level was Watford’s 3-2 victory against Cardiff City in December 2018. This Sunday will be his 77th game overall. To far, he has received 246 yellow cards and eight reds.

In his career, which has lasted more than ten years since it began in August 2011, he has also won the FA Trophy Final, the League One Play-off Final thrice, and the FA Vase Final.
