We have only been able to score seven goals in ten Premier League games.
Now, I’m not the only fan who has repeatedly brought up the necessity for us to buy a seasoned striker from the Premier League.
I am aware that they are hard to come by, though, and that the compensation and cost of hiring one may turn the proverbial apple cart upside down.
I don’t know whether there are any plans to sign a striker during the January transfer window, though.
However, glancing through the gossip mill, it seems that Birmingham City and our team are being connected to Josef Martinez by the Sports Mole.
The Venezuelan international Martinez is currently a free agent after Inter Miami released him after his deal ran out.
However, to what extent is the rumour credible?
First, I would have to wonder if there is still room for us in our club squad. With the recent short-term signing of Andros Townsend, I believed we had secured all 25 spots.
Second, you have to consider whether he is indeed talented enough for the Premier League, especially since Birmingham City is also eager to get him.
It’s interesting to remember that Martinez received offers for as much as £10 million back in the summer.
Even if I have my concerns about the player, I can’t help but feel that, given Andros Towsend’s short-term deal ending in January, the player might be ready to sign. Am I the only one who feels this way?
