Rest in Peace; with immense sadness Club announces the sudden passing of our colleague, friend and Hatters supporter

The Club regrets to inform you of the unfortunate and abrupt demise of Mark Ledsom, a coworker, friend, and Hatters fan.

Mark is a professionally qualified journalist and broadcaster with over 20 years of experience in media, journalism, and communications. Mark has worked for some of the major broadcasters in the media sector, including Sky Sports, BBC, and Thomson Reuters.

He started working in corporate communications in 2008, first with FIFA, the organisation that governs world football, where he launched and edited their brand-new monthly four-language magazine. In order to oversee communications for the recently established government-backed technology and innovation centre Transport Systems Catapult, he relocated back to the UK in 2014.

Before deciding to accept his dream job by joining Luton Town’s media team this summer as the Club recruited new talent in preparation for the Premier League, his influence could be seen during the Hatters’ rise from non-league to the Premier League, offering the Club regular PR advice and guidance on a consultancy basis.

In a few short weeks, Mark made an effect on his co-workers who quickly warmed to him because of his enthusiasm for his job, the Club, and the community. He was pleased to make his Luton Town press box debut at Brighton during the team’s inaugural Premier League game.

Tragically, Mark lost his short but courageous fight with cancer less than a month after learning he had it and only one day before he was supposed to be celebrating his 50th birthday.

The love and thoughts of everyone at the Club go to his wife Louise, his three children Max, Kurt, and Anya, as well as his extended family, which includes his sister Jane, who is well-known to Hatters supporters. Mark
