National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads are not included
Luton drivers will have two National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.
One of them is expected to cause moderate delays of between 10 and 30 minutes.
The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that one closure already in place is expected to carry on this week:
A1081, from 10 p.m. on November 13, 2023 to 5 a.m. on September 30, 2025, expect significant delays (10-30 minutes) on M1 southbound from junction 14 to junction 10 due to carriageway closures, lane closures, restricted lanes, and speed restrictions for National Highways construction improvement/upgrade.
Another closure will start within the following two weeks: A5, from 9 p.m. on February 5 to 5 a.m. on February 6 – minimal delays (under 10 minutes): A5 eastbound, Thorn Roundabout to M1, junction 11A – carriageway closure, lane closure, and diversion route for National Highways barrier/fence safety repairs.
