Severe delays on the M5 after serious crash causes motorway closure

This morning, Tuesday, September 17, an accident in Devon resulted in the closure of an M5 slip road. As per the traffic monitoring site Inrix, the collision happened at the Exeter exit slip road.

Traffic was backed up to junction 31 on the motorway’s northbound carriageway as delays grew. Just before 11 a.m., the collision cleared and traffic resumed normally.

According to Inrix, there is a clear exit slip road for M5 northbound traffic, and there is no accident at J30 A379 (Exeter / Service Areas).” Prior gridlock to the Okehampton turn off, J31.”

M5 delays are still present.
