A 24-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder.
After an inmate at HMP Maidstone passed away, a murder inquiry was started.
Concerns regarding an inmate’s welfare prompted the call for police at 3:33 on Thursday.
The individual, who was in his 20s, was pronounced deceased at the site by medical personnel, and the South East Coast Ambulance Service also responded.
His family members have been notified.
Following the death, a murder inquiry has been launched by the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate.
A 24-year-old male has been placed under arrest and brought into police custody after being suspected of murder.
