On a country road in Nottinghamshire, there was a collision involving two cars that required the extraction of a driver. At approximately 5:50 p.m. on this Thursday, August 15, police were called to Main Road between Ravenshead and Blidworth, which is directly outside the Fairview Farm vacation site.
Between the villages in north Nottinghamshire, the road was blocked in both directions. When police last updated the situation at 6:57 p.m., the road was still closed at Main Road and Fishpool Road, but it had reopened at Ricket Lane and Main Road, which is about 0.5 miles away.
All three emergency services were called, and fire engines from Mansfield and Hucknall were called in to assist East Midlands Ambulance Service after it was thought that the two cars involved had been recovered.
When the fire department arrived, two men were out of the other car and unharmed, according to the service. The scene was characterised by a witness as a “bad accident with fire trucks and loads of police cars.”
