Heat Trade Package To Land 2 Bulls Stars

The Chicago Bulls might hold the most significant set of assets in the league right now.

All signs point to this being the end of the line for Billy Donovan’s team, and it seems like it’s just a matter of time before they blow their roster up and start from scratch.

Needless to say, plenty of teams would be more than willing to trade for their stars, the Miami Heat included.

With that in mind, NBA insider Jake Fischer put together a hypothetical trade package to get Zach LaVine and Alex Caruso to South Beach (via Dru on Twitter).

Per Fischer, the Bulls could consider taking Kyle Lowry’s salary alongside Tyler Herro and picks for their duo of guards.

On paper, they would be getting a very similar player to LaVine, but Herro is actually younger and making a more reasonable salary.

Lowry’s expiring deal would give the Bulls some financial flexibility, and the picks are always gold for rebuilding teams.

That might not be the best trade package they could get for their stars, though, as some believe Caruso’s defense is worth a first-round pick on his own.

Even so, it seems more than evident that LaVine isn’t fully committed to the team anymore, and with their never-ending struggle to compete at the highest level, perhaps it would be better to just start over.

Whether Arturas Karnisovas and his regime have earned the right to lead the rebuild or not, well, that’s a different conversation.
