Since McCray has committed to the Florida Gators, his recruiting has been wild, but based on what has been heard, Auburn and Florida State have undoubtedly remained in the running. For the Miami game, McCray and Mincey paid a visit to FSU. Miami has been all over these excellent talents and will have had an opportunity to make an impression on them after today.
Lastly, just a heads up to everyone who has been following Miami recruitment. Flip season, also known as crazy season, has arrived primarily due to NIL and coaching changes. Note: No recruit should surprise anyone by entering or leaving a recruiting class.
In terms of decommitments at schools like Texas A&M, the firings and job-swapping at colleges around the nation speak for themselves, and more will come. Recruits have always wanted to know their long-term head coach and assistant coaches. And there was the NIL discussion.
The NIL money that has also been thrown about has varied greatly depending on the potential that has been under consideration. It was absurd to hear the backstories of some of these bidding battles, particularly the most recent ones. Any given college football program, Miami included, has undoubtedly been touched several times over the final stretch of recruiting.
