LATEST; Middlesbrough Boss said Has the Best Team in the Season..

Let’s face it: Compared to the previous Saturday, it wasn’t the ideal weekend for our Yorkshire clubs.

Only two teams—Middlesbrough and Harrogate Town—had victories in September, while six other teams—plus Sheffield Wednesday—had suffered defeats.

However, The Yorkshire Post has still been able to put together a 3-4-3 formation squad of the week that is halfway respectable. Take a look and decide.

The seasoned keeper was a comforting presence in net as the Sulphurites won a superb victory at MK Dons. They achieved back-to-back league victories for the second time in 2023 as a result.

Defence

Bradford City’s Brad Halliday

The right-back followed up on his respectable showing against Boro in midweek as the best of a bad bunch for the Bantams against Walsall.

Barsley resident Mael de Gevigney

Much more sure-footed and reliable than in his previous league debut at Oxford last month, which featured a disastrous first half. gave a commanding display against Blackpool after receiving the go-ahead to start from Reds manager Neill Collins, demonstrating his growth since then.

Sheffield United’s Jack Robinson

exhibited courage following the terrible afternoon against Newcastle the weekend before and was once again in control at the West Ham back.

Midfield

Huddersfield Town’s Jack Rudoni

A player who consistently improves and was everywhere during a significant performance against a talented Ipswich team. An outstanding save prevented a score in the second half.

Middlesbrough’s Jonathan Howson

Set up Boro’s first goal against Watford and provided a polished presence in the middle of the park for the Teessiders, who are beginning to gel after a rocky start to 2023–24.

Huddersfield Town’s Jonathan Hogg

Back to his snarling, confrontational best for Town, and his departure from the match in the 72nd minute due to a calf injury was a significant development in the context of Saturday’s matchup with high-flying Ipswich, who were rightfully glad when he did so.

Hull City’s Jean-Michael Seri

When City and Plymouth drew at home, they were at the center of everything positive. Since the first weekend of the season, the Tigers have gone undefeated in league play.

attacking forwards/midfielders

From Middlesbrough, Matt Crooks

demonstrated his threat in the ‘ten’ position and assisted in the setup of two goals for the Boro. On that day, Vicarage Road had a sizable presence.

Huddersfield Town’s Delano Burgzorg

Throughout the entire game, he harassed Ipswich’s defense with his quickness, power, and unpredictableness, and in the process, he assisted himself to his first goal at the John Smith’s Stadium.

Middlesbrough’s Riley McGree

tallied two well-taken early goals for Michael Carrick’s team to build on his impressive cup performance at Bradford.

Simon Weaver, manager/head coach (Harrogate Town).
