Latest Middlesbrough talks with new contract signing.

Middlesbrough are ‘likely’ to have new contract ‘discussions’ with Isaiah Jones when the campaign is over, as detailed in a report by the Northern Echo.
Middlesbrough’s winger is due to enter the final year of his deal at the Riverside Stadium.

Jones, 24, has been on the books of the Championship side since 2019.

In this latest update regarding his situation by the Northern Echo, the club are expected to begin extension talks in the close season.

Jones is a key player for Middlesbrough and tying him down on a long-term basis would be a huge boost.

They risk losing him for nothing in 2025 if they aren’t able to agree terms with him which is a worry.

The Londoner moved up north to join Boro having previously been in non-league with Tooting & Mitcham United.

He was loaned out to Scottish pair St Johnstone and Queen of the South early on in his time with his current club to get some experience under his belt.

Jones has since become a key first-team player and has made 122 appearances in all competitions to date, chipping in with 11 goals.

He has had a decent current season under Michael Carrick and has found the net on seven occasions.

Boro are poised to miss out on the play-offs this year but will be eager to make another promotion push next time around.

Retaining the services of Jones would certainly boost their chances as they look to return to the Premier League in the near future.

Carrick’s men drew 1-1 away at Ipswich Town last time out and haven’t been in bad form recently. In fact, they are unbeaten in their last nine games.

They face Leeds United at home up next before fixtures against Cardiff City and Watford. Boro are eight points off the top six.
