Michael Carrick Announce injury update Ahead of Stoke city..

Michael Carrick offered an injury update on Riley McGree, Darragh Lenihan, Marcus Forss, Lukas Engel and Hayden Hackney.

Michael Carrick has stated that Marcus Forss will be sidelined for several weeks for Middlesbrough, and the club is still no closer to regaining Darragh Lenihan or Riley McGree.

Usually reticent to provide precise injury updates, the Boro manager stated that Forss’ thigh problem would keep him out for a short spell, but it was impossible to predict when Lenihan and McGree, who are out with Achilles and lower foot injuries, would likely return. With seven players out of Tuesday night’s victory against Norwich City, Boro is now dealing with a bit of an injury issue. It has been revealed that Tommy Smith would miss the remainder of the season due to an Achilles rupture.

Hayden Hackney, who had earlier sustained a blow to the knee in that match, received his fifth yellow of the season at Carrow Road, ensuring he will miss the match this coming Saturday against Stoke City. Lukas Engel was also substituted out of that match due to a groyne strain, but Carrick stated that both players are well. Additionally, Emmanuel Latte Lath has returned to action following an absence due to sickness.

The Boro manager gave a mixed injury report, saying: “We are severely hurt by Tommy’s injury. He will be absent for the most of the season, if not the entire one. Other than that, not much more can be said except that we’ll try our hardest to assist him and bring him back as soon as possible.

“It’s been one of those moments, losing a couple guys and losing them for longer than we would have liked, but that’s just the nature of sport. You have to handle it; we’ll help and encourage Tommy and return him as soon as we can.

Manu is capable. He’s feeling better now that he’s had a few days to recuperate and get over his bad sickness. Lukas took a knock, but he’s alright, as is Hayden.

“Unfortunately, Marcus’s thigh problem will keep him out of commission for several weeks. Riley and Darragh won’t be accessible this weekend either, although none of them has a set schedule. We’re still performing some research and evaluation with Darragh. He has an issue that is impacting both his ankle and Achilles. It appears that Riley is dealing with a foot injury that is getting better little by little, day by day. The timeline on that one is difficult to provide since we have to tackle things one step at a time.”
