Pundit names five Middlesbrough players who could play in a ‘top four side*

Lately, Middlesbrough has had to deal with some fairly inconsistent play.

Currently, five points outside of the play-off spots in the Championship table, Michael Carrick’s team is ranked ninth.

That is the result of ‘Boro’s three consecutive victories in their most recent games.

But before then, Middlesbrough had to put up with a losing streak of just one game in seven.

Such a run could still be detrimental to their chances of finishing in the top six at the end of the season.

However, it seems like some of the squad’s talent could be playing much higher up the division despite this inconsistency.

The possibility that Middlesbrough would now return to the race for a top six position has raised questions about their chances of doing so.

Ryan Dilks implied on The Second-Tier Podcast that they could have the talent on their team to accomplish it.
In fact, he thinks that a few of those players might even be able to contribute to one of the four teams who are dominant at the top of the table.

Following Middlesbrough’s victory over Birmingham City on Tuesday night, the EFL commentator offered his assessment of the team:

The starting lineup versus Birmingham, which included Marcus Forss, Paddy McNair, Matt Clarke, Lewis O’Brien, Riley McGree, and Marcus O’Brien, is quite talented and experienced, especially for this level of play.
