A man suffered ‘life-threatening’ injuries in an attack at Middleton Shopping Centre.
Officers swarmed the shopping centre yesterday afternoon (Friday) after reports of an ‘assault’. Officers found a man who was seriously hurt, police said.
The incident is reported to have happened in the toilets inside the shopping centre. Reports suggested the man was stabbed, but this has not been confirmed.
Greater Manchester Police said the man was rushed to hospital from the scene with ‘life-threatening injuries’. No arrests have been made.
Enquiries into the incident are ongoing. Emergency services were said to be ‘all over’ the shopping centre yesterday afternoon, with police, paramedics and forensic officers on the scene.
“At around 3.50pm yesterday afternoon (Friday August 9, 2024), we were called to reports of an assault at Middleton Shopping Centre,” a GMP spokeswoman said in a statement. Police discovered a man who was seriously hurt.
“He was brought to the hospital to receive treatment for injuries that were deemed potentially fatal. Investigations are underway, and no arrests have been made.”
