Ex Hibs makes Millwall transfer confession’

The Scotland international has taken time to find his feet in London but has three goals in his last six games

Kevin Nisbet believes his Milwall career is set to take off after admitting he needed time to adjust in London.

The ex-Hibs striker has had a hit-or-miss start to life at the Den, thanks in part to a slew of fitness and injury difficulties since his £2 million summer move from Easter Road. But the Scotland international has found his scoring touch again, scoring three goals in his previous six Championship appearances.

Nisbet confessed it’s taken him longer than expected to find his feet in England but the 26-year-old wants to make up for it in the second half of the season.

“It’s been okay so far,” he remarked, “though I think I should probably be on more goals than I am now.” However, it has increased in the last several weeks, which is encouraging. I’ve been working hard to stay healthy and sharp so that my form can last.

“I believe I have that scoring streak in me.” I haven’t scored as many goals as I would have liked, but I’ve had some injuries and haven’t been entirely healthy all season, but I’m feeling fully fit now, and the goals are coming.

“I think I’m past that settling-in stage now.” I believe I am now settled in London and at the club. It’s been a difficult few months, but I believe I’m past it and want to score as many goals as possible.

“I’ve been like that my whole career. I’m quite an instinctive finisher so if I get a couple of chances in a game, I back myself to go and put them away.”
