Mihailo Ivanovic praised by Millwall’s manager, who also outlines his objectives for the striker.

ALEX Neil called striker Mihailo Ivanovic “an absolute handful” and lauded his recent performances.

Neil, who took over as Millwall’s manager last Monday, has selected Ivanovic to start in both of his games, a thrilling 2-2 draw at Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday and a 1-0 loss to Oxford United at The Den on New Year’s Day.

Ivanovic, 20, became Millwall’s record signing in the summer and has started five league games this season, including three in the Lions’ past four games. The Serbian striker has scored two goals in the league after coming off the bench.

“He’s been a real handful the past two games,” Neil remarked. I believe that because he is over six feet, it enables us to be more straightforward.

In all honesty, I don’t want him to flick things on because we aren’t the kind of team where it’s big guy, small man. He won’t win every header, though.

“I thought he did that brilliantly.” “We want it to go up and stick up there so we can pick up second balls.”
