Last night’s draw at Blackburn Rovers kept up the head coach’s unbeaten start but the relentless nature of the Championship relegation battle means Millwall are just two points clear of the bottom three with 10 games remaining.
However, Harris is pleased with what he has witnessed thus far and eager to maintain the momentum on Saturday against Birmingham City.
Following the game, he declared, “I’m really pleased with the points total.” After three games against Watford, Southampton, and Blackburn—a notoriously difficult location for us as a football team to visit—you have seven points from those three games. Thus, seven points is a fantastic return, so we can consider our glasses half-full.
“I’ve noticed a lot of advantages. I’ve observed several aspects that the group has cautioned me about, such as the fact that we could use the ball a little more skillfully. However, what I’ve observed about the team is a genuine character, drive, and passion, and that’s what the supporters want to see, what any Millwall manager should want to see, and what I want to see.
“I sense a sincere willingness and commitment to win, both at home and abroad. And the biggest thing for me is that we ended the game tonight with a bad goal conceded, but the players said in the locker room that it’s a really good point tonight because we return to The Den on Saturday and we’re excited about being at The Den. Any Millwall home side should be excited about playing at The Den.”
