Kevin Nisbet hopes his Milwall career is about to explode into life after admitting he’s taken time to adjust in London.
The former Hibs striker’s inconsistent start at the Den can be partially attributed to a string of injury and fitness problems that have followed his £2 million summer transfer from Easter Road. However, the Scotland international has scored three goals in his last six games for the Championship team, regaining his goal-scoring form.
Although Nisbet, 26, acknowledged that it has taken him longer than anticipated to settle in England, he hopes to make up for it in the second half of the campaign.
“I think I should probably be on more goals than I am now, but it’s been okay so far,” he stated. However, it has improved over the past few weeks, which is positive. I’ve been working hard to get in shape so that hopefully my form will hold.
“I believe I possess that scoring streak.” I’ve not scored as many goals as I would have liked to, but I’ve been sidelined the entire season due to injuries and other issues. Fortunately, I’m feeling well and the goals are starting to come in.
“I believe that my time of settling in is over. I believe I’ve made my home at the club and in London. Obviously, these past few months have not been easy, but I believe I’m over that now, and I want to score as many goals as I can.
“That is how I have always been. I’m a pretty instinctive finisher, so when I have a few opportunities in a game, I trust my instincts to get them done.
