Update on injury timeline for Millwall fans’ favourite

Casper De Norre is still on schedule to be back in full training for Millwall early in 2024.

The summer signing from OH Leuven had quickly become a fans’ favourite for his performances in the middle of the park.

However, De Norre’s calf injury—which also affects his Achilles—has kept him out of the last four Championship games.

The 26-year-old is currently using the AlterG Anti-Gravity treadmill, which lowers a user’s bodyweight by using air.

“His rehabilitation is going well,” Edwards said to the South London Press. He is still on schedule to resume training around the middle of January, as we had initially anticipated.

When you reach that point, given the severity of the injury, it’s clearly a manageable length of time—not an extremely long one, though.

Then, it will depend on how he performs as a player. Certain players possess innate levels of fitness; they recover from sessions more quickly than others. Some return with the appearance of having been gone for that long or even longer. If he ends up making good progress and gains a solid foundation of fitness from that end-stage rehab, he could be one and be ready to go as soon as he joins the rest of the team. That would allow you to quickly add him back in.

“We’ll probably have to wait and see on that as well, especially for a player who doesn’t have a significant history of injuries.”
