Vikings Activated bad Off Injury Ahead of Sunday’s Battle with the Atlanta Falcons

When the Minnesota Vikings play the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday, wideout support will be provided. The Vikings have activated wide receiver Jalen Nailor off the injured reserve (IR), and he will suit up in Week 9, according to their official Twitter account.

Nailor has been on the IR since the end of Week 2 with a hamstring injury. Minnesota has been among the best passing offenses in the NFL in 2023.

Minnesota Vikings Wide Receiver Jalen Nailor: NFL Profile

In 2022, Jalen Nailor was selected in the sixth round of the draft by the Minnesota Vikings. As a rookie, he showed promise by catching just nine passes for 179 yards and a touchdown. The six-foot wide receiver had his best games late in the season, when he caught seven passes for 151 yards and a touchdown in the team’s final two games of the regular season.

Prior to going on the IR in 2023, the Michigan State product was nonexistent despite playing a significant number of offensive snaps during his rookie season. In the team’s opening two games, he was limited to just one offensive snap while star Justin Jefferson was given more playing time by rookie Jordan Addison and offseason signee Brandon Powell.

Jalen Nailor: Expected Role in Week 9

With standout wide receiver Justin Jefferson recovering, Jalen Nailor might be thrown into the offensive scheme on Sunday. The team’s top two receivers are K.J. Osborn and Jordan Addison, while the three-time Pro Bowler is on injured reserve. Only two other wide receivers this season have drawn attention: rookie Triston Jackson and Brandon Powell. Any receiver on the Vikings could get hurt, which would allow Nailor to start getting plays. Furthermore, Nailor might be ranked higher in the hierarchy than Powell or Jackson by head coach Kevin O’Connell. In Week 9, Nailor will also be a reliable member of the special teams.
