The defender is a free agent after being released by Chesterfield, where he spent 10 years.
The 27-year-old was loaned out to Crawley Town last season and they won promotion to League One through the play-offs, beating Crewe in the final at Wembley.
Maguire’s contract was not extended by the Spireites and he is now searching for a new club.
Additionally, he is reportedly going to sign with MK Dons of League Two, who were defeated by Maguire’s Crawley in the play-offs. Next season, he might play against Chesterfield if he decides to make the transfer.
After announcing his resignation from the Spireites, Maguire wrote on social media, saying, “I’ve loved every minute of the incredible journey from the youth system through to the first-team.”
“I will always remember growing up in this town, attending school there, and playing 180 games for the club.
“I couldn’t be happier to see the club back in the Football League where it belongs, and you fans deserve every bit of success.”
