Morecambe Manager out of hospital after successful surgery>

Following his hospital admission at the beginning of December, McMahon underwent surgery and then spent a period of convalescence at home during the Christmas season.

John says he is eager to resume his career after a quick and full recovery. He will now undertake a phased return to work.

“I’m feeling really strong, positive and I’m really pleased to be back and looking forward to the challenges ahead,” he commented.

“Back then, things moved slowly, but now that the squad has demonstrated a strong will to succeed and numerous strong performances, I’m incredibly excited, anxious, and delighted.

“Even though I’ve been away from the Club, I’ve continued to follow the games on iFollow and communicate with the Manager; it’s been a pleasant bonus to witness the team’s improvement.

I’m really looking forward to building the days up and contributing to the team and outcomes, but I also need to be cautious due to medical advise, so it will be a gradual return.

“I want to thank everyone for their encouraging words. Morecambe has, in my opinion, always been a family-oriented club, with its supporters serving as its mainstay and always will.

“It says a lot about the people who come and watch the team week in, week out, and they are the real supporters who keep the Club going, so I thank every one of them and hopefully they’ll see me on the sidelines soon in my shorts!”
