Shocking details emerges on Edwards contract at Morecambe FC

After arriving at the Mazuma Mobile Stadium in January 2024, the Welshman quickly proved himself as a key player and made 22 appearances in all competitions in the second half of last season, scoring three League Two goals.

The 31-year-old spoke of his excitement at putting pen to paper, saying: “I’m delighted to get it over the line, I enjoyed my time at the Club last season, arriving in January and playing, and everyone at the Club has been brilliant – I can’t wait to get started in pre-season.

“With the games we had after arriving in January, it took some time to build up the load in the legs, but I think from March onwards, I really found my form and was playing well.”

Before coming to Morecambe, I had been out injured for nine months, so I was eager to resume playing. After moving to Morecambe, I felt like I fit in well. As time went on, I was able to play games and get to know people. When I was given the opportunity to take a new job, my first priority was to get it done as soon as possible.


“I’ve taken two weeks off from my legs, but I’ve still been going to the gym occasionally. It’s been good to get some relaxation.
