Ged Brannan, the manager of Morecambe, stated that he hopes to sign a “couple” more Nottingham Forest players on loan this summer.
During the January transfer window, Morecambe made a dash to sign attacker Julian Larsson from the Premier League side.
The League Two team hopes to leverage its connections at the City Ground to bring in further players down the road.
As stated by the Lancaster Guardian, Brannan stated: “We might be able to get a couple of their players because we have a really good relationship with Nottingham Forest.”
In the future, Morecambe’s transfer dealings will benefit from their positive relationship with Nottingham Forest. It is advantageous to all parties concerned.
The younger players for the Reds get playing time in the Football League, and Brannan has more choices to choose from in his roster.
After being demoted from League One the previous season, the North West team, the Shrimps, have had a busy season.
They lost head of recruitment Greg Strong and previous manager Derek Adams to Ross County earlier in the season. Still, Brannan has entered and steered the vessel.
Tenth in the standings, Morecambe is still very much in the running for the play-offs. With 13 games remaining this term, they are three points outside of the top seven.
Last time out, they drew 1-1 at home against Grimsby Town, with attacker Jordan Slew scoring for them against the Mariners in the second half.
