very interesting see why he is ready to return*

Ged Brannan is excited about Morecambe’s next home game against Sutton United, which was postponed over the week.

The Shrimps were supposed to play Walsall, however a strong downpour that afternoon forced the postponement of the game.

The Poundland Bescot Stadium’s playing surface was deemed inadequate by referee Craig Hicks, much to the annoyance of both teams and their respective fan bases.

When asked if he thought there was a possibility to win the game, the Morecambe head coach replied, “We saw the rain coming down when we arrived for our pre-match meal.”
“We came to the ground and the groundsman said he was happy, we were thrilled, but the referee called it off. We spoke to a few individuals and they claimed it was alright.

“When I and Mat (Sadler, the Walsall manager) were on the field, Les (Dewhirst, the Morecambe kit man) had already organised everything in the changing room.

The right-hand portion of the goal was damp in the region under dispute; the groundsman stated he might have rolled it, but it occurs in football.
“The only issue is that we have a lot of games coming up, and this will be the third straight away game after AFC Wimbledon (February 17) and Tranmere (February 13).”

“To be fair, the weather has been awful, and our game wasn’t the only one called off that evening.

“Hopefully, we can build on our victory at Crawley this Saturday with our field being in good condition.”

The winning at Crawley last Saturday was not only a victory for Ged Garner, but it also marked his second straight road victory.

The Barrow AFC loanee, who missed a penalty in the loss to Colchester United seven days prior, scored both of Morecambe’s goals after they fell behind within the first twenty minutes.

Despite the attention being focused on the 25-year-old’s incredible winner, Brannan was more pleased with his first goal and the manner Garner outran his defender to convert David Tutonda’s cross.

“I was more pleased with the first than the second because of the great finish he achieved,” he remarked.

“Hopefully, he can capitalise on the momentum we know he has in his locker—that finish and that movement.”
