Giants Signing QB to Practice Squad a Plus….

Matt Barkley 2013 NFL Draught out of USC. He is one of the two quarterbacks the Giants worked out a few weeks ago. He played for the Buffalo Bills for three seasons (2018–2020), when Brian Daboll, the head coach of the Giants now, was the offensive coordinator.

Barkley has played in 19 career games with seven starts. He has also spent seasons with the Cardinals, Bears, Bengals, Panthers, and Falcons. He has completed 212 of 363 pass attempts for 2,699 yards, 11 touchdowns, and 22 interceptions, or 58.4% of the total. Assuming Tyrod Taylor (ribs) doesn’t end up missing any time due to his injury, the Giants may now use the emergency quarterback rule after adding Tommy DeVito to the 53-man roster. It is expected that the Giants will employ three altitudes on Barkley in case Taylor needs to miss time.

To make place for Barkley, the Giants cut centre Jaylon Thomas from their practise squad. In addition, the Giants signed punt returner Gunner Olszewski, who they have already stated they want to use in the team’s game this weekend against the Las Vegas Raiders.
