The New York Yankees have a lot of work ahead of them.
Despite extremely high expectations, New York underperformed on the field in 2023 and only won 82 games. Due to the Yankees’ extreme struggles, owner Hal Steinbrenner declared that the team would undergo an audit and that changes would be made beyond the roster.

It sounds like organizational changes are something Yankees legend Reggie Jackson would like to see. The Hall of Famer joined Derek Jeter, Alex Rodriguez, and David Ortiz on Fox Sports’ pregame coverage of the Major League Baseball postseason and ripped the club for its handling of Yankees alumni, according to the New York Daily News Sports’ Gary Phillips. “Whether you’re Derek Jeter or whether you’re (Alex Rodriguez) or Reggie or Andy Pettitte or Bernie Williams or Mariano Rivera, your voice isn’t heard,” Jackson said. “You don’t participate. I walked away because I wanted to be involved and leave my knowledge in the game. We didn’t get a chance to be involved in some of the say-so, and our opinions didn’t really get valued…”
