Excitement; Ian Foster has praised a superb defensive effort…

Ian Foster, the All Blacks coach, has praised a superb defensive effort.

“Amazing. We had been discussing the game for the entire week, so we all knew it was going to be amazing, and it was. Foster remarked, “It was a real arm wrestle.”

Ireland is a proud team that persevered throughout. They continued tightening up the game, even though I thought we had them a few times.

“I’m really pleased with how we performed. Our defending was excellent, especially in that last stretch.”

Reaction to the Rugby World Cup 2023: Ireland, devastated, considers the end of an era

Ireland, which for a while set the standard for rugby in the world, is understandably disappointed at having missed their great opportunity.

“I’m incredibly proud of the group and everyone who has contributed over the past few years. We had to lose tonight, but happily it was not us after such an incredible game, according to coach Andy Farrell.

“Two strong teams competing, narrow margins, and everything.” We committed mistakes early in the game, giving them field position and six points.”

I was really pleased with how we battled them back and attacked them all the way to the end. Though we’ve experienced success, sports can be brutal at times; perhaps that’s why we enjoy them so much. The manner we continued to fight demonstrates the nature of this side.”

REACTION: Savea selected man of the match in the Rugby World Cup 2023

This week, a lot was at stake. It was one of those battle-like Test matches. We gave the supporters what they wanted—to go out there and play against a world-class Irish group. An enormous compliment to the Irish team,” Savea remarked.

“They have been the benchmark for the entire year. All I want to do is send them love. I simply can’t get enough of my boys.

Defying Ireland’s comebacks, New Zealand wins a thrilling Rugby World Cup quarterfinal.
Through Jerome PugmireOct. 14, 2023, 14:05
In a thrilling Rugby World Cup quarterfinal match that ended in a 24-24 victory, New Zealand held off three comebacks from top-seeded Ireland and two yellow cards to advance to a record-tying fourth triumph.

Next week, the All Blacks will return to Stade de France to play Argentina. Earlier that week, the Pumas overcame Wales 29–17 in Marseille.

Ireland loses in the eighth quarterfinal and returns home, having failed once more.

The Irish fell behind 13-0, 18-10, and 25-17 in the first half, and with little over 15 minutes remaining, a penalty try turned the score into a one-point game.

Hooker Codie Taylor lost a man for the second time when he collapsed the maul and was sinbinned.

With ten minutes remaining, Jordie Barrett’s missed penalty kick increased anxiety once more, but he converted the next one to give New Zealand a narrow four-point lead.

With a few minutes remaining, New Zealand held off a massive maul on the try line, and then miraculously endured 37 phases of the final, pointless Irish attack to secure a historic victory.

New Zealand 28 (tries from Leicester Fainga’anuku, Ardie Savea, and Will Jordan; conversions by Richie Mo’unga, a penalty, and Jordie Barrett, two penalties) Ireland 24 (two penalties, two conversions by Jonathan Sexton, and tries by Bundee Aki and Jamison Gibson-Park). HT: 17– 18

FULLTIME: In a 28–24 classic, the All Blacks dazzle Ireland
Through Sam WorthingtonAt 13:49 on October 14, 2023, The Blacks have achieved it.

New Zealand holds on for a 28-24 victory to advance to a Rugby World Cup quarterfinal match against Argentina, ending Ireland’s 17-game winning streak.

The world’s top team is no longer in the mix, but neither team should have lost a match worthy of a championship.

A fantastic rugby match.

Ireland has the appalling record of never having advanced past the World Cup quarterfinals.

Eight of these are now lost.
