The former Castleisland AFC, Killorglin AFC and St Brendan’s Park defender has been hugely impressive for the League Two side in England this season and was excellent in the team’s 4-2 FA Cup fourth round defeat to Manchester United on Sunday.

With increasing interest in the Kerry defender, Newport County manager Graham Coughlan has acknowledged that the team is fighting to hold onto star right-back Shane McLoughlin before the January transfer window closes on Thursday at 11 p.m.
The 26-year-old from Castleisland has been linked to teams like Rotherham, Lincoln City, Wycombe Wanderers, and Wrexham after putting on another impressive performance during his team’s 4-2 FA Cup fourth round loss to Manchester United at Rodney Parade on Sunday.
