2 air ambulances responded to the collision
A two-vehicle collision near the town of Simcoe, Ontario, on Saturday night resulted in one fatality and four injuries.
At around 7:10 p.m. ET, emergency personnel were dispatched to the intersection of Windham East Quarter Line Road and Windham Road 9. A car’s occupant was ejected, according to Ontario Provincial Police in Norfolk County.
One individual was declared deceased at the scene, according to the police.
After arriving at the scene, two Ornge air ambulances took four more people to Norfolk General Hospital in Simcoe.
The Norfolk County OPP released a statement saying, “Our thoughts are with the families and friends of those affected by this tragic event.” “Further updates will be provided as the investigation continues.”
The names of those in the crash have not been released.
Police have not said what caused the collision or whether charges are pending.
Norfolk County Fire and EMS also attended the scene to provide critical support and care. The surrounding roads were shut down for several hours as police investigated but they’ve since reopened.
