Five-Star UNC basketball target finaly take a visit’

Caleb Wilson will check out the UNC basketball program early next month.

Caleb Wilson, a Holy Innocents Episcopal (Ga.) five-star who is ranked fourth overall on the 247Sports 2025 Composite, has made official visits to Auburn, Kentucky, and Stanford.

The Tar Heels, who joined the Wilson sweepstakes with their offer in May, planned to invite him for an official visit the second weekend of November. However, he postponed the trip without assigning a new date.

At the time, his father told recruiting insider Adam Zagoria that the reason for cancelling was for his son “to rest and recharge” before his junior season.

On Wednesday, however, Wilson’s father informed Zagoria that his son will be in Chapel Hill for UNC’s Feb. 3 rivalry game versus Duke, one of several other bluebloods who have given him an offer. The 6-foot-10, 205-pound versatile forward has yet to determine whether he will make an official or unofficial visit to the Tar Heels.

In any case, it appears that UNC basketball coach Hubert Davis and his team are still contenders in the competition.

Caleb Wilson, who has yet to identify finalists in his recruiting process, is one of eight players on the Tar Heels’ impressive 2025 wishlist. The other seven, including the top-ranked junior, forward AJ Dybantsa, as well as the remaining top five, are all five-star prospects ranked among the top 15 in the class.

So far, UNC has not received a commitment or refusal from any of the targets.
