UNC Basketball: Best one-and-done players of the Roy Williams era:

There weren’t many “one-and-done” players during the Roy Williams era, but these players made a huge impact on the UNC basketball program in just one season.

When you look back at the Roy Williams era for the UNC basketball program, the instant thought typically focuses on the student-athletes who spent multiple seasons on campus.

Through the majority of his head coaching career at North Carolina, “one-and-done” players were very rare to come to Chapel Hill. In fact, it wasn’t until about 2018-2019 that the program started to see more players leave after just one season on campus.

The Tar Heels are no exception to the ever-changing world of college athletics, as some players are simply ready to take on the challenges of professional basketball after just one season in the college ranks.

Although there aren’t dozens of players to choose from (like some other programs have), we decided to rank the top “one-and-done” players of the Roy Williams era.

Of course, the team’s success typically factors into these types of rankings. Although we will look at how their respective teams fared, we’re also looking at it from an individual talent perspective, as what they accomplished will be at the forefront of these rankings.

It’s safe to say that UNC basketball fans would have loved to have seen these players stay on campus at least for another season!
