This UNC basketball legend had very high praise for Harrison Ingram, saying that he’s been the best transfer that the Tar Heels added this offseason.
It didn’t take very long for UNC basketball fans to fall in love with Harrison Ingram.
The transfer from Stanford has been outstanding in his early Tar Heels career, as he’s developed into one of the key pieces for this year’s squad. Through seven games, Ingram has improved his shooting percentage drastically from a season ago, as he’s knocked down 49.3% of his shots, including an impressive 48.5% from beyond the arc.
Fans aren’t the only ones who are impressed with Ingram’s game, as UNC basketball legend Tyler Hansbrough had some very high praise for him following the victory over No. 10-ranked Tennessee.
On the Full After Dark Podcast, Hansbrough said that he believes Ingram has been the best incoming transfer “by far” for this year’s UNC basketball team.
He went on to discuss how Ingram brings a whole new aspect to this team, as he can play multiple positions and possesses versatility that allows Hubert Davis to mix and match with different lineups.
Most importantly, Hansbrough talked about how Ingram has hit open shots, something last year’s team struggled to do.
“He’s probably been the brightest spot and the most consistent player on the UNC basketball team this far. You can say that he’s won us some games thus far, without his consistent play, I think we have more than one loss if he wasn’t playing so well.”
Ingram has been an outstanding addition to the UNC basketball program, as his impact early on has impressed not only people in Chapel Hill, but the college basketball world as a whole.
