UNC Basketball to be without starter for Arkansas matchup

After suffering an ankle injury late in the UNC basketball program’s overtime loss to Villanova, veteran Cormac Ryan will be sidelined on Friday.

Once again, the UNC basketball program will have a different-looking starting lineup.

Cormac Ryan, who injured his ankle in the final seconds of the Tar Heels overtime loss to Villanova, is not dressed for the UNC basketball program’s final Battle 4 Atlantis contest against No. 20-ranked Arkansas.

This is concerning news, given Ryan’s importance to this year’s squad. The injury came just when the Notre Dame transfer was hitting his stride, as he scored 18 points before exiting the game on Thanksgiving day.

The hope is that this isn’t a long-term issue, as Hubert Davis and the Tar Heels could be taking the cautious route given the busy week they’ve had. We’ll have to wait and see how North Carolina fills Ryan’s void as they take on a top-25 opponent in the Bahamas.
