Police find body believed to be missing Northam man

A man has died at the scene of a devastating crash in the Wheatbelt after the van he was driving struck a tree.

A 59-year-old man suffered critical injuries after the Ford Autopro transit van he was driving hit a tree in Throssel — east of Perth — about 6.25pm yesterday.

Police have charged a 49-year-old man with murder following a death in Northam yesterday.

Yesterday afternoon police were called to Northam Hospital after a 35-year-old man arrived with serious injuries.

The man later died from his injuries.

Wheatbelt Detectives and Major Crime Squad attended a residence in Cook Street where they believe the man was injured.

The 49-year-old man will appear in Perth Magistrate’s Court today.
