Brady won’t commit to the Cobblers upcoming campaign.

Since I always play to the strengths of the squad I have available, I can’t tell with certainty how I’m going to play right now. What matters is who and what you get.
The football style that Cobblers head coach Jon Brady will play next season is up for debate, as he says it all relies on the players he can sign in the summer transfer window.

Brady’s three years as coach have seen a change in Town’s playing philosophy, and this season, his team has played some fantastic football. Brady was pleased with what he observed, even if they lost to Exeter City on Saturday. They rank in the middle of the pack in League One in terms of both average possession and pass accuracy.

He stated: “I’m pleased with the way we played and how we played, especially in the first half, and on another day you go into half-time 3-1 up and they have a man sent off and it’s job done.”But today was not meant to be. Although it is undoubtedly unfortunate to lose our final home game, we have the most points we have had in 16 years and an incredible season. They seemed to have a few breaks and it dropped for them.

“Yeah, you want to win at Sixfields to cap off the season, but I think we played well overall, especially in certain areas where we played great football.”

But with Marc Leonard, a loanee who has been the foundation of Town’s midfield, set to depart Sixfields for good this summer, there are no guarantees that Cobblers will be able to keep playing the same way.

Brady went on, “It all depends on the personnel you get in.” “You have to play to the strengths of what you have because it’s about what you get and who you receive. You can’t just keep playing that way.

“I currently have Marc Leonard, and he can assist us in playing and building in the same manner that we have, so it all depends. I usually play to the strengths of the group I have available, so I can’t say for sure now how I’m going to play.

We’ll see; you don’t always get what you want, but for now I don’t want to dwell too much on that. I’m not in possession of a crystal ball and I can’t say ‘I’m going to sign this player or that player’. Who knows.”
