Ahead of today’s derby, Bent sends warn to his former squad.
Speaking to the BBC, former Ipswich Town striker Darren Bent has cautioned his former team that the winner of today’s derby against Norwich City could be whoever rises to the occasion.
Given that they are presently ranked second in the Championship, the Tractor Boys are the overwhelming favourites to win this match and earn three points.
In addition to this, Kieran McKenna’s team should try to take advantage of their home advantage to their advantage throughout the match.
After a bright beginning to the season, Norwich, on the other hand, has been let down for a significant portion of it.
On paper, they still have a pretty good team, though, and they’ll be hoping that some of their more seasoned players, like Ashley Barnes, can help them bring a point or three back to Carrow Road.
Given that Leeds United might be able to get closer to the Tractor Boys, the Canaries would undoubtedly consider even a point to be a victory.
In addition, a draw would give David Wagner’s team a foundation on which to grow. You get the impression that this game will be particularly crucial for the manager of Norwich in his efforts to maintain the support of the board and fans.
Before Ipswich Town vs. Norwich City, Darren Bent said, “The contrasts in the two teams are quite scary”
Prior to the game, Bent was all over McKenna’s team, but he isn’t discounting the Canaries just yet.
“The differences between the two teams are pretty frightening, but if you look at derby matches generally, sometimes the team that rises to the occasion wins,” he told the BBC.
