Norwich City 32 years old Key midfielder Bids Farewell>

The 32-year-old joined Norwich from Leeds United last summer but has played only nine times for the Canaries this season

Adam Forshaw, a 32-year-old midfielder, is about to join Plymouth Argyle from Championship opponent Norwich City.

Forshaw joined the Canaries only in August of last year, but he is anticipated to go to Home Park after making just a few appearances this season. According to Connor Southwell of The Pink ‘Un, “If Forshaw can find himself another opportunity, which has surfaced in the form of Plymouth, Norwich were willing to sanction an exit for him this window.”

Forshaw would provide a wealth of experience to an inexperienced Argyle team that has experienced significant changes since the beginning of January. Four new players have joined the team: 22-year-old free agent Matthew Sorinola and the adolescent trio Ashley Phillips, Darko Gyabi, and Alfie Devine, who are all on loan from the team. Six players have left.

Forshaw was let go by Leeds United at the end of the 2022–2023 season, and Norwich signed him in August of last year on a one-year deal with a 12-month option. He has since made five substitute appearances in addition to four starts; in September, he played one game off the bench as David Wagner’s team lost 6-2 at Home Park.

The midfield player began Norwich’s 1-1 FA Cup third round home draw against Bristol Rovers on January 6 despite not having played in the Championship since the end of October.

born in Liverpool After graduating from Everton’s academy, Forshaw played for Brentford, Middlesbrough, and Wigan Athletic before signing a reputed £4.5 million contract to join Leeds in January 2018. He made 91 appearances for United, 61 of which were starts.

Next Saturday, January 27, is Argyle’s FA Cup fourth round visit to Leeds; however, if Forshaw’s transfer to them is completed, he will be cup-tied.
