Latest; “Nottingham forest Manager makes Brennan Johnson vow”

The latest Nottingham Forest news comes from Wales manager Rob Page, who discusses Brennan Johnson and his injury status following his transfer to Tottenham.

Wales manager Rob Page has committed not to jeopardize Nottingham Forest academy product Brennan Johnson’s health by asking him to report for international duty while suffering from an injury.

Despite this, Page chastised Forest after Johnson missed Wales’ Euro 2024 qualifier against Croatia in March. Page admitted at the time that he should have been “stronger” in ensuring Johnson arrived at camp for Wales to conduct their own medical evaluation of the 22-year-old striker.

Johnson, who signed Tottenham from Nottingham Forest on transfer deadline day this summer for £47.5 million, will miss Wales’ crucial Euro 2024 qualifier against Croatia in Cardiff on October 15. In his debut appearance for Tottenham against Arsenal in the north London derby, he suffered a hamstring injury.

Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou revealed on Friday that Johnson will miss this weekend’s Premier League match against Luton Town. He will, however, be able to return following the international break.

“The communication between us and Tottenham has been first-rate,” Page remarked. It is all about mutual respect. Both managers want a quality player who fits, so they must collaborate.

“I’m not going to insist that he come away and we’ll play him, jeopardizing his safety and health.” That is something I would never do. But they also recognize the significance of our games.”

“We’ve had great conversations with them,” Page said of communication with Tottenham about Johnson’s fitness state. “But ultimately, his injury will dictate whether he can meet up or not.”
