HITC understands Nottingham Forest are in talks for a highly rated Paraguayan winger who has been linked to a host of Premier League clubs.
Nottingham Forest, led by Nuno Espirito Santo, has been active this summer. Earlier this month, the East Midlands team completed the signing of Elliot Anderson from Newcastle.
Forest almost avoided relegation from the Premier League after receiving a point deduction for breaking financial fair play regulations.
According to HITC, Forest is currently in negotiations to sign a talented Paraguayan winger who had previously been linked to moves to Wolves and Chelsea.
Forest in talks with Talleres over Ramon Sosa deal
According to HITC, Forest and Talleres, an Argentine team, are negotiating over Ramon Sosa, a winger.
Sosa’s agent had already made a lot of noise on Chelsea and Everton’s interest in his client, with the Paraguayan player’s reps acknowledging that discussions were had with the Toffees as early as January.
After meeting with Kevin Thelwell, the head of Goodison Park, in January, Daniel Campos, Sosa’s agent, informed Diario Popular, “I was in England.” “The sports director of Everton and I spoke.”
As previously reported, the highly-regarded Paraguayan international has been linked to Chelsea as well as Wolves, but HITC can now confirm that Forest is hoping to sign him.
Forest had been looking to bring in a winger and has been linked with a number of names including Fiorentina’s Nicolas Gonzalez but Sosa is the one they are now working on.
Forest told what to expect from ‘technically gifted winger’
According to HITC’s Argentine sources, the two parties are debating paying roughly €15 million (£12 million) to move Sosa. There isn’t a contract in place yet for Sosa to relocate to Forest.
Nathan Joyes, a specialist in South American football, has commented on Sosa, who scored seven goals and contributed six assists in 2024.
