Nottingham Forest agreement to make first summer signing hits the wall as Selling club want to sink deal

The summer transfer window may still be several days away from opening, but Forest are already putting plans in place to make a quick start in the market.

But Nuno Espirito Santo‘s side are one of the clubs in the Premier League who are going to have to tread carefully this month.

Numerous sides are needing to sell players by June 30 PSR deadline to avoid any penalties going into the new campaign.

Evangelos Marinakis has already seen his side deducted points last season for failing to comply with the financial regulations put in place.

Nevertheless, Forest remain in search of new players, but they may have been hit with a potential blow in their pursuit of one of their top targets.

This week has certainly been a rollercoaster when it comes to transfer speculation at the City Ground.

Earlier in the week, the dependable Fabrizio Romano said that striker Che Adams and Forest were nearing an agreement to swap places.

But the next day, rumors circulated that Adams had changed his mind and would instead sign with Wolves instead of moving to Forest.And it appears that Forest’s interest in Brazilian goalkeeper Carlos Miguel may yet take another turn.

According to reports in Brazil, Corinthians’ board are now trying to persuade the goalkeeper to stay following interest from Forest.

The report does state that everything has been agreed upon by both Forest and the player’s team to finalize the deal.

It’s thought that despite the efforts, they are currently being made in vain to keep the 25-year-old in Brazil.

Forest eyeing business early in the window

Although Forest are one of the clubs who are needing to sell players this month, it seems they are not looking to waste any time in bringing new players through the doors.

This will be Nuno’s first summer at the helm and will be the first opportunity he will have had with the squad to implement his ways over a summer pre-season tour.

With Forest just scraping Premier League survival, getting their squad together and ready to go as soon as possible will surely be of huge benefit to Nuno.
