A few fans and players were confused when Caiden Storry, a 16-year-old Nottingham Forest season ticket holder, struggled to hit the correct notes in the final section of the song during his near-flawless rendition of The Last Post on the trumpet during a Remembrance Day tribute. Last week, Storry gained attention for an incident that occurred during his rendition of the song prior to Forest’s 2-0 victory over Aston Villa at the City Ground.
After Storry’s performance, there was a brief period of applause, and then members from both sides could be seen comforting the very upset child.
However, to commemorate Armistice Day, Forest posted a video of Storry playing the moving song flawlessly on the pitch at their home stadium on social media on Saturday.
He was then asked to see the team this week at the training facility of the club after last Sunday.
“I spoke to Caiden before yesterday, when he spent the day with us,” Cooper said of Storry’s visit during his pre-match news conference on Friday before of tomorrow’s trip to West Ham. Cooper also gave the young player an embrace as he left the ground on Sunday.
