Nottingham Forest star on Tottenham radar

Tottenham Hotspur are aiming to add players who can surpass their present ceiling, and in pursuit of that goal, they have turned to Morgan Gibbs-White, one of the Premier League’s most dynamic creative midfielders. According to Football Insider, the North Londoners have discussed a potential transfer with his current club, Nottingham Forest.

This will be a setback for James Maddison, who has been inconsistent this season and has unable to duplicate his early success at White Hart Lane. While Morgan Gibbs-White has many Ange Postecoglou characteristics in his game, he is predominantly a runner with the ball at his feet who excels at driving the ball inward while thinking on his feet.

If Spurs sign the former Wolverhampton Wanderers star, he will become the second player to go from City Ground to the N17 in as many seasons, following former colleague Brennan Jhonson.

Football Insider senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke, speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, revealed that Forest might have to sell one of their marquee players in the summer in order to balance their books, and should they decide to sell the 24-year-old, Tottenham would be looking to bring him to North London.

Nottingham Forest have put a £60 million price tag on his head, and Tottenham Hotspur are thought to be leading the hunt for his services right now. Forest would see a big financial return after just paying an initial £25 million charge at Molineux Stadium.
