Steve Cooper, the manager of Nottingham Forest, is upset over the last game.

Steve Cooper, the manager of Nottingham Forest, believes referees must improve.
Cooper was upset that Moussa Niakhate was benched against Brentford.

The choices of officials once again dominated a Premier League matchday, and Steve Cooper urged referees to elevate their performances.

Although Cooper’s Nottingham Forest team was down to 10 players, they nevertheless rallied from a goal down to tie Brentford 1-1; however, the spotlight was once again on referee Paul Tierney and VAR.

As a result of potential handballs by Nicolas Dominguez and Willy Boly, as well as when goalkeeper Matt Turner appeared to have fouled Yoane Wissa, Brentford may have been awarded three penalties. Cooper was also upset that Moussa Niakhate received a second yellow card soon after halftime.

The foul was unintentional, and to appreciate that, you must understand football, he continued. The PGMOL didn’t need people discussing referees’ decisions today because it was the only Premier League game of the day, but they have them instead.

We all want referees to perform at a high level because they are undoubtedly having a difficult time. It’s about time if one or two things had gone our way.

All of us want referees to succeed. Referee Keith was my father. They need to help themselves as well since we want them to be composed and make wise choices.

Thomas Frank, the manager of the Bees, accepted the handball decisions in Forest’s favor but was perplexed as to why his team did not receive a penalty kick for the Turner/Wissa incident.

Thomas Frank, the manager of the Bees, accepted the handball decisions in Forest’s favor but was perplexed as to why his team did not receive a penalty kick for the Turner/Wissa incident.

Frank stated: “I believe that in the two instances of handball, some managers will call for a penalty, but I won’t,” Frank added. “I would really hate for that to be said about my team.”

On the other hand, the Wissa penalty is obvious. You cannot pass the man. Unfortunately, VAR made a clear and evident error there.

“Maybe our players should be a little bit more nasty, but I’ll never tell them that,” the coach said. I enjoy trustworthy players.
