Notts County completes three-year deal

The 24-year-old made over 100 appearances in League One and League Two for Morecambe

After agreeing to a three-year contract at Meadow Lane, center-back Jacob Bedeau became Notts County’s second defensive addition and second summer signing. After stints at Bury and Scunthorpe United, the 24-year-old moved to Morecambe, where he played in League One and League Two, totaling over 100 matches.

He has participated in the youth systems of Aston Villa and Burnley. In the past few seasons, he has advanced to the senior team at Morecambe, where he has established himself as one of the best young defenders in the league. This summer, he moves to Notts with fellow center-back Matty Platt as the team prioritises bolstering their defence to prevent a recurrence of their dismal defensive performance from the previous campaign.

Center-back Jacob Bedeau signed a three-year contract at Meadow Lane to become Notts County’s second defensive addition of the summer. Following spells at Bury and Scunthorpe United, the twenty-four-year-old relocated to Morecambe, where he participated in over a hundred League One and League Two games.

He was involved in Burnley’s and Aston Villa’s youth systems. He has progressed to Morecambe’s senior squad over the last few seasons, where he has established himself as one of the league’s top young defenders. Along with fellow center-back Matty Platt, he moves to Notts this summer as the squad looks to strengthen their defence in an effort to avoid repeating their awful defensive performance from the previous season.

“Due to his advanced age, he possesses immense potential to develop with the team, and we are confident that we can offer the ideal setting for him to achieve that.”

Although Bedeau has experience, he is still young enough to continue growing into the kind of defender Stuart Maynard desires. The 24-year-old’s early dedication to the team is demonstrated by his signing a three-year contract, as he discussed his initial thoughts on the project and the team Notts aim to assemble.
