Notts County consider submitting bid for talented star ahead of summer..

Before returning to Hillsborough, 23-year-old Brennan made five appearances for the Magpies.

After three years, there is a chance that he could return to Meadow Lane this summer on a free transfer.

Brennan’s Sheffield Wednesday contract ends at the end of the current campaign, and in late June, he is expected to become a free agent.

With the Owls in the Championship, he is not as popular, and all indications point to his leaving.

The former Republic of Ireland youth international would be a great addition to Notts County as they aim to develop under Stuart Maynard. He might use some time to establish some roots before the upcoming season.

They had a tumultuous first season back in the Football League after being promoted from non-league last year.

The Magpies’ defence is the weakest in the division, tied with Salford City, having given up 80 goals in 43 games this season.

Brennan would assist tighten up their defensive department, while Maynard would aid support their backline. Furthermore, he is of a respectable age and has room to grow and progress in the future.

Throughout his entire career, he has been signed by Sheffield Wednesday and has advanced through their system.

The Sheffield native has made 18 appearances for their first team. In order to gain experience, he has also had brief stints away from South Yorkshire at Gainsborough Trinity, Swindon Town, and Hartlepool United in the past.

In the upcoming months, Notts County is anticipated to be quite active with transfers, so bringing Brennan back wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world.
